ABOUT HOLLIE

I’m a water quality and water resources professional whose career has combined science, public policy, environmental consulting, and hands-on watershed work.I earned my bachelor’s degree at Humboldt State University and later a Ph.D. in Soil and Water Sciences. My early Humboldt County work included AmeriCorps service, co-directing the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology, and watershed restoration with the Mattole Restoration Council. I later spent ten years owning and operating an Arcata-based environmental consulting firm focused on water rights, water conservation, watershed management, and environmental compliance.Today, I serve as a Senior Environmental Scientist with the California Coastal Commission, where I help shape development projects to protect water quality, aquatic habitat, and coastal resources. I have also served on Humboldt County advisory bodies, including the Fish and Game Advisory Commission and the Eel River Valley Groundwater Working Group.I’m running for the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District Board to bring that experience to the long-term stewardship of our public water system and the Mad River/Baduwa’t watershed that sustains our communities.
